"Dr. S Radhakrishnan" The Great Philosopher

























We heard and read many great people who born in India , One of the greatest personality which inspired me was Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Radhakrishnan is known one of the greatest thinker, philosopher of the modern India. He is not only great philosopher ,a great teacher and president of India .


Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888, tiruttani near Chennai. He was the second son and his parents were poor.Radhakrishnan father did not like his son to learn English.Radhakrishnan studied philosophy at the christian college, Madras and got a Master Degree in Arts.

When he was 20 years old,he was appointed to the Department of Philosophy at the Madras Presidency
College.His profession was started and he was to leave a lasting impression.Because of his simply and interesting way
of teaching.He became popular.

In 1929, Dr.S.Radhakrishnan was invited to be principal in Manchester College, Oxford.He gave lecture on "An Idealist View of Life" to audiences at the Universities of London.

Dr.S Radhakrishnan was of the opinion that only the right kind of education could solve many problems in the society. He wanted to change the educational system by improving the quality of education.Building strong relationship between the teacher and the taught.


Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was elected the vice-president of India during the period 1952-1962.In the year 1962, he became the President of India.He was the humble man.People from all sections of society were welcome to meet him.In donated the amount to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund every month.He remained a teacher in many ways.

India's Highest award, the Bharat Ratna, was conferred on him in 1954.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Passed away on April 17, 1975.
